Job Description Summary

Leads the strategic engineering activities for Veresegyház Factory, covers all manufacturing/repair technology. Establishes and manages a multi skilled engineering group which works on a common base according to a well-defined strategy and fully supports the entire factory both in terms of daily activities and long term improvements by working close to Headquarter, CoE Leaders, Quality, Facility&Maintenance, Sourcing&Logistisc on the appropriate level.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:


  • Define manufacturing engineering strategy for the entire factory

  • Engineering, standardizing and optimizing manufacturing processes

  • Continuously lead productivity and pivot to value efforts

  • Take the lead of NPIs,(Lead Time, technology, tooling, fixturing, programming, Quality Plan, first 5 sets manufacturing)

  • Take the lead on machine installations and technology transfers, developments

  • Responsible for all strategic I&E projects

  • Responsibilities to continuously standardize and improve tooling and fixturing, both for quality & cost

  • Utilize Lean/Six Sigma as a method of product and process improvement

  • Improve Lean Production by using Kaizen activities, leading breakthrough initiatives

  • Take part in the operator suggestion evaluation, implementation, working together with the operative engineering team

  • Initiate, manage and track corrective actions relating to engineering processes

  • Represent factory in the global teams

  • Manufacturing/Repair standard time reductions

  • Active participation on mandatory EHS trainings and events.

  • Further tasks not involved in this Job Description that the immediate leader/manager assigns with verbally or in writing.


  • ISO 9001 standard compliance

  • Defines and drives the engineering strategy, with emphasis on creating added value and business growth.

  • Lead the engineering team and support improvements through appropriate tools

  • Meet goals and objectives of all engineering related KPIs, track results periodically

  • Sets up individual and team goals and objectives for engineering team.

  • Provides leadership development and performance feedback to staff members, coach and mentor across the organization.

  • Document control and continuous follow up in the area

  • Lead improvements and follow Lean principles

  • Customer focus and product conformance

  • Manage and report training, and certification status related to engineering

  • Assures appropriate documentation and records and their continuous follow-up

  • Follow EHS rules and warn others to follow the rules.

  • Immediately report the incidents and near misses to the direct reports and EHS department


  • Release of all engineering related documents with signature, in specific cases may need preapproval from higher level

  • To use the approved financial framework

  • Select the supplier base from a professional points of view

  • Make decisions on all HR related requests/situations together with HR

  • Make operational decisions related to the appropriate team, in specific cases may need preapproval from higher level

  • Immediately STOP the operation when realized quality risk or life / serious injury risk present

  • Review and Approve engineering related processes

  • Release of all engineering related documents with signature/system approval, in specific cases may need preapproval from higher level


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge or experience

  • Fluent Hungarian and English language knowledge

  • Significant exposure to the disciplines of engineering leadership, ideally with experience in engineered-to-order supply chains

  • Several years of experience in leading Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality or highly cross-functional teams

  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of influencing and driving a strategic change agenda across the organization.

  • Change agent, with strong credibility at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong communication skills, experience of working and leading across/within local cultures.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with the value streams and processes used in manufacturing of either or both in Heavy Duty Gas Turbines and its components or Aero/Jenbach

  • Demonstrable experience in leading projects.

  • Experience in working with and communicating to Customers.

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to identify and explain critical and complex issues.

  • Quality/Six sigma/lean practitioner expertise is preferred

  • Ability to work effectively across functions, global experience leading cross-functional or geographically dispersed teams.

  • Proven mentoring and coaching abilities, demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others.

  • Capability to challenge, think differently, and influence the organization
