General Electric Parts Engineer in Veresegyhaz, Hungary

Role Summary:The Parts Engineer will be responsible for technical support for Gas flow parts and will drive definition for the part number item master within Parts organization.

Essential Responsibilities:In this position, you will:

  • Drive engineering growth initiatives within Parts organization

  • Provide engineering support to the various parts teams

  • Communicate with customers to convert quote and order requests into deliverable applicable part(s) by researching drawings, renewal parts books, databases, GE catalogues and other available sources for accurate product configuration

  • Verify applicability and fit of critical customer requests to turbine application

  • Perform Interchangeability and form / fit / function reviews on flow part requests

  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers in support of sales initiatives

  • Identify newly created part numbers and accurately complete engineering part definition attributes in a timely manner

  • Maintain engineering part definition attributes required to process requests for parts

  • Contact qualified Vendors in order to identify and / or validate part definition, price and availability

  • Responsible for accuracy and speed of technical responsiveness

  • Improving key operational metrics including (quote and order cycle time reduction, accuracy, record updates, and customer information requests)


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge or work experience

  • Significant experience in support of Power Engineering, Sourcing, Fulfillment and/or Business Management

  • Successful applicant will be legally eligible to enter into an employment relationship under the laws of Hungary.)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Familiarity with Bill of Material (BOM) structures

  • Demonstrated commitment to Six Sigma (GE Employees only)

  • Certified Black Belt / Green Belt (GE Employees only)

  • Experience with PLM , Global Explorer, Configuration Reviewer, S/N, SDR

  • Experience in Application and Requisition Engineering

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software

  • Ability to read technical drawings

  • Proficiency in Writing / Speaking / Reading in English

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive change and make critical decisions

  • Ability to drive process improvements and solve complex problems

  • Excellent Interpersonal, communication, presentation and influencing skills

  • Ability to quickly and effectively learn business operating systems

  • Pro-active approach to problem solving; change agent

  • Detail oriented, organized, conscientious team player with strong sense of ownership

  • Capable of designing, selling and implementing process improvements
