General Electric Manufacturing Manager 1 - Production in Veresegyhaz, Hungary
Will demonstrate accountability for Gate 2 (Repair) operational objectives. This may include Resource Management (equipment and personnel) and activities required for the manufacturing operations to obtain maximum efficiency. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in short term planning and execution as well as contribute to long-term business strategy.
Provide total cell / group leadership in the attainment of goals with respect to safety, quality, cost, TAT, On time delivery, LEAN production and compliance.
Drive process / product improvement, New Product Implementations and provide process method excellence throughout the organization; readily adopt, implement and mature LEAN processes for wing to wing product flow
Lead cell / group to achieve goals in utilization, process / manufacturing loss improvement, delivered quality and cost reduction
Establish, manage and continuously improve a LEAN culture at the cell/function level to help achieve common goals and customer satisfaction
Promotion of innovation and improvements to increase safety, quality, production efficiency and to reduce cycles. Implement Lean initiative and establish the culture of 5S and Kaizen through Employee suggestions
Ensure communication of key business / customer issues to employees as well as report out to Headquarters on key metrics; readily adopt, implement and mature the GEAPS tools and expectations across the shop floor
Responsible for meeting all established cost, quality, and delivery commitments
Ensure assigned employees are aware/comply with all GE regulations, customer and applicable policies, procedures, rules and regulations
Select, hire, train, develop, and provide ongoing leadership and direction of assigned personnel
Interface with other organizations, functions and vendors to assure requirements are met on time. Work horizontally and collaboratively with teams within and outside of the function, site, value stream and organization.
Develop necessary business plans to enhance all program requirements; including throughput, labor hours, cycle, cost producibility, and planning.
Structure assigned organization and staff positions with personnel to accomplish business objectives
Provide ongoing supervision and counseling for employees, guiding them in current positions and assisting with career development and training; develop clear roles and responsibilities for the production team and a thoughtful succession plan for the operations function on the site
Offer day-to-day technical guidance to engineers and technicians in the shop
Manage and execute the reorganization projects within budget
Drive the productivity improvements in the line with the support of 6S and engineering department
Control the documentation processes required by authorities
Create and improve manufacturing documents, standards and escalation criteria
Work closely with a Local and Global Management Team to ensure seamless operations and to achieve outstanding results. Define objectives of improvement and report for line production (Inventories, cycles, metrics, quality, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt/Edge Certified (or equivalent); Has clearly demonstrated implementing/leading Lean/Kaizen activities with proven outcomes
At least 5 additional years of experience in a shop role; Experience in a Repair/Services environment, preferred
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; thrives in a matrix environment and building connections at the peer level; Proven change agent; Skilled in CAP
Demonstrated skills in coaching and mentoring talent; Experience leading and motivating hourly workforce, desired
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Knowledge of manufacturing policies and regulations established by GE as well as other customers
Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production control, and standard cost management; strong financial acumen
Strong organizational skills
Strong oral and written communication skills both in English and in Hungarian
Financial services industry experience helpful.
SAP knowledge is an advantage
Materials Planning / Master Planning experience is an advantage
LEAN Six Sigma and/or GE Advantage EDGE Certified (or equivalent), required
