Job Description Summary

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is a both internal and external facing role with responsibilities over the wing-to-wing transportation processes for GE Aviation Hungary and warehousing activities as well.

Job Description

The role will have responsibility including driving standardization and adherence to GE Aviation policy in the areas of inbound & outbound transportation, warehousing, transportation charges across contracts and further global and local initiatives. This individual is responsible for proactively identifying areas of process improvement and cross functional program management to drive business compliance and financial objectives.

Warehouse Operations:

• Manages the hourly team who performs shipping & receiving, order entry, warehousing and releasing materials into production

• A job at this level requires a people leader with ability to hire and develop talent. Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy

• Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others

• Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline

• Functions with autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

• The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.)

• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Transportation Operations:

• Build and maintain the inbound & outbound transportation process for the Site in accordance with GE policies. Responsible for the flowdown of the process to local procedures and having metrics in place to validate accuracy / process efficiency. Propose and execute changes where necessary

• Owner of the logistics budget of the Site – shall leverage existing Corporate level agreements for cost efficiency and shall time-to-time negotiate one-off freight offers

• In case of transport damages, ensure that proper action is taken by all parties to protect GE’s interest and rights towards third parties.

• Continuous awareness on regulatory watch / change of rules

• Control and validate all invoices used for local Logistics services

• Monitors logistics risks and opportunities for Transportation activities

• Where necessary, interface with end customer about transportation route optimization

Generic responsibilities:

• Lead digitization efforts related to all fields of Logistics for the Hungary site

• Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions and Processes

• Report or resolve any non-conformances and process in a timely manner

• Ensures that Service Providers are duly informed about health & safety rules and implement them.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or High School Diploma with at least 5 years of experience in Logistics and Warehousing processes

• Demonstrated experience in supervising and developing a team

• Profound knowledge of process analysis, project management and performance management

• Strong data analytics background with planning and organizational skills

• Ability to communicate (verbal, written) in English and Hungarian (is a must)

Desired Characteristics:

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global team environment

• Solid communication and analytical skills

• Ability to energize, develop and build rapport at all levels within the organization

• Proven ability to execute and deliver on commitments

• Experience working in the Aviation industry is an advantage, but not a must

• Experience in Oracle or SAP order management is an advantage
