Job Description Summary

Partner with global cross-functional stakeholders within the Gas Power-New Units Project Management organization to define & implement automated reporting solutions, new tool development, and existing tool enhancements. Focus will be on improving standardization, data transparency and data quality across both individual project and portfolio reporting levels.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for defining, deploying and managing project management support tools. Including identification of end-user needs, development of strategies & roadmaps, and documentation of clear requirements/user stories.

Expected to leverage technology, process, and domain expertise to drive execution across multiple interdependent projects. Will be required to facilitate stakeholder discussions/agreements, while ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within budget, and of desired quality. Expected to utilize platforms including, but not limited to, Tableau and Spotfire.

Essential Responsibilities:

Organize & lead sessions to interview functional owners to understand needs and translate into requirement documents

Define success criteria for testing interface design, data validation, and final acceptance prior to production roll-outs

Ensure supporting documentation management & maintenance

Form close working relationships, and build domain expertise, with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Finance, Quality, and Scheduling.

Provide training & user support when required

Collaborate with Digital team members (Developers, Data Architects, Datalake team)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Software Development or Project Management reporting

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires advanced experience in the Project Management & Processes and Tools. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Experience in leading cross functional initiatives and/ or large global projects

  • Experience in defining and executing product and technical development roadmaps

  • Strong knowledge of data and process flows and system design

  • Strong technical competency with a history of working hands-on to solve problems and define workable solutions

  • Skilled in listening, communicating and negotiating to align stakeholders and to communicate a single synthesized perspective to the execution team.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire people toward common goals, getting project team members and other stakeholders to collaborate and cooperate with each other for success

  • Ability to see downstream consequences of decisions and effectively tailor influencing strategy to support positive outcomes

  • Continuously reflects on success and failures to improve performance and decision-making. Understands when change is needed. Participates and leads in technical strategy planning.

  • Innovates and integrates new processes and/ or technology to significantly add value to GE. Identifies how the cost of change weighs against the benefits and advises accordingly. Proactively learns new solutions and processes to address seemingly unanswerable problems.
