General Electric Director Product Management, Additive Software Build Preparation -m/f in Various, United States

Role Summary:

The Software Product Manager will develop and own digital strategy for our Build Preparation product line. The Software Product Manager will craft our Build Preparation product road map, working closely with customers, external partners, and our internal GE Additive teams.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this growing segment, this role will be challenged to define our product priorities and enable GE digital differentiation for our machines, products, and services through defining and delivering amazing simulation, compensation, build processing, and other capabilities to delight our customers. The Software Product Manager will be responsible for creating strong working relationships & influence across cross-functional Additive executive leadership, product management, engineering, service, and other functional groups to form and execute our GE Additive digital product management strategy for the Build Preparation product line.

Additionally, as the Software Product Manager, you will:

  • Have a deep understanding of our current and future Build Preparation customers, their needs, and their ecosystems

  • Maintain strong awareness of the market, our competitors, and the value our Build Preparation solutions will provide for our customers

  • Generate profitable growth in the Build Preparation product line in support of business objectives on orders, revenue, cost and margin through the delivery and productization of key digital products and services

  • Champion customer satisfaction and engagement by building and maintaining customer partnerships and ensuring that “voice of the customer” is reflected in our strategy, the roadmap priorities, and continually incorporated into our software and analytics New Product Introductions (NPIs)

  • With a keen eye on the evolving Additive market and competitive digital additive landscape, relentlessly pursue new opportunities through commercial strategies in partnership with regional sales teams

  • Create strategic collaboration with internal and external Build Preparation customers, and partner with other Additive machine product management teams to deliver differentiated and integrated customer solutions

  • PLEASE NOTE: although the Work location listed is West Chester, OH. This role may also be considered in other locations including: Niskayuna, NY, US, Lichtenfels, Germany, Munich, Germany and/or Gothenburg, Sweden Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge and axperience

  • Profound Professional experience in software or manufacturing industry (Including significant recent experience in design engineering, manufacturing software (CAD / CAM / PLM), additive manufacturing, and/or machine / edge analytics)

  • Strong experience in digital product management / strategy portfolio management functions in a global software or analytic organization operating in an agile / scrum methodologyEligibility Requirements:

  • MBA or masters in STEM fields from an accredited university or college preferred or equivalent knowledge and experience

  • Go to market development and execution expertise with a track record of delivering product and technology innovation in a new and evolving market space like Additive

  • Strong manufacturing or industrial digital services business acumen coupled with ability to successfully innovate product portfolio to align to business strategy and customer needs

  • Experience in monitoring and shaping industry dynamics, trends, and policies and to shape a culture that proactively uses market intelligence to drive significant growth

  • Ability to make strategic partnering decisions for the product line including the creation of new inbound/outbound channels

  • Prior experience balancing customer needs, install base requirements (refresh), and long-term enterprise differentiation

  • Awesome ability to embrace and cultivate our people, products, and processes to make us all better
