The Validation Engineer, Mechanical is responsible for validating the functions and performance for the wind turbines to ensure they all meet the requirements, as well as some specific tests for components or sub-system to understand the behavior or performance in operation. This role will manage the test equipment and coordinate the schedule for the field validation as well as some co-simulation of expected results for model validation and reports as input for Design Engineers.
Coordinate with cross function teams and third party to build up the test plan, arrange the test equipment and present results of the tests
Lead the team for the sensor mounting and data acquisition system, collect data in routine rhythm
Manage the project to ensure the successful execution of the validation plan, report out if any potential risks
Review data and ensure it is correct
Interpret abnormal data and troubleshooting
Conduct the data analysis, validation and present the results to stakeholders Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor or above degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable field
Significant experience in working machine testing and validation
Basic knowledge of measuring systems and data processing software
Positive mindset with strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical approach to problem solving
Ability to climb wind towers
Good communications skills, verbal and written, English language required
Ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment
Flexibility of working hours with global sites
Self-motivated, and willing to travel
EU Work Permit - if contracted in SpainNon-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement. Desired Characteristics:
Wind turbine system knowledge
Basic knowledge of measuring Strain, Pressure, Temperature, Acceleration and displacement.
Knowledge of IEC 61400-13 loads measurements,
Experience with analysis of loads and vibration data
Demonstrated ability to document, plan, and execute multiple program deliverables. Locations: India, Spain; Barcelona, Bangalore
