General Electric Lead Buyer - Parts in Various, Spain

Role Summary:

GE Renewables is seeking an experienced Lead Buyer – Parts Sourcing expert to lead certain Parts Commodity of approximately $5 MM annual volume. You will be negotiating with assigned suppliers in line with specific policies, setting the sourcing strategy with strong process responsibility and managing complex and comprehensive supplier / buyer contractual relationships to meet the business needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Lead Buyer, you will:

  • Develop, lead, and execute Sourcing strategy for assigned commodity / category

  • Establish the strategic direction and work plan to deliver cost-out, cash improvements, and strategic supplier partnerships while meeting quality requirements

  • Manage Supplier Performance relative to Fulfillment Metrics, NCRs, response time to request

  • Strategically Manage EOL / Obsolete trend, including negotiating favorable terms for Last time buy

  • Maintain Item Master Attributes, Sourcing module attributes (Quotes, ASR, ASLs, etc), Supplier Maintenance using Supplier Connect, Obsolete / Superseded Parts Management

  • Negotiate Supply Agreements, Rebate Agreements on assigned commodities

  • Manage first time buy and activations

  • Work effectively with Parts Management team on resolution of escalations related to material expedite/shortage, quality issues or any other supply disruptions

  • Work effectively with Renewables COE, Direct Material & Services GCLs, Product Lines, and Sites sourcing people to optimize resources and maximize leverage globally

  • Support the Universal Fleet Solutions (UFS) program on the assigned commodity Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's / Technical Degree from an accredited university or college (technical preferred) or equivalent knowledge or experience

  • Significant experience in Lead Buying/Commodity Management

  • Some negotiation experience and knowledge / experience negotiating contract terms

  • Fluent in Spanish and English.

  • Ability and willingness to travel globally

  • EU Work PermitIf contracted in Spain:Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement. Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to effectively work across poles, cultures and time zones to provide strong support to global stake holders

  • Strong Oracle/ERP, Excel management skills

  • Team player with a strong drive to win with integrity and compliance

  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and business acumen
