General Electric Product Support Engineer in Vandalia, Ohio

Job Description Summary

The Services Engineering organization is developing and executing strategic growth opportunities in the aftermarket for the Electrical Power business. This role as Product Support Engineer will be responsible for field product performance and repair aftermarket activities. The role is multi-faceted from collaborating cross-functionally on strategic projects to working hands-on to improve flow in the repairs department.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Technical Responsiveness

  • Lead engineering projects to improve shop turn-around times and margin

  • Resolve engineering issues related to repair activities

  • Collaborate on lean events

  • Perform engineering investigations for fielded units

  • Develop repair/troubleshooting procedures and repair shop technical support

Instructions for Continued Airworthiness

  • Update / maintain technical content for in-service manuals

  • Review field limits and repairs support

Proactive Product Performance

  • Analyze repair station leading indicators

  • Develop product improvement recommendations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong electrical / electronics background

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problem
