General Electric Manufacturing Engineer in Vandalia, Ohio

Job Description Summary

In the role of Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the manufacturing and assembly of aircraft electrical power generating units. This includes both mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes. In this position you will be responsible for establishing manufacturing processes, leading continuous improvement, and increasing process yield. You will work on a cross functional team to resolve daily manufacturing challenges, troubleshoot and resolve process and product issues, perform root cause and corrective action, and lead projects.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define and control production process including procedures, sequence, work instructions, tooling, and equipment.

  • Validate manufacturing processes and documentation to design specifications and quality requirements.

  • Perform root cause and corrective action of product failures and defects

  • Utilize data driven process improvements to enhance quality, yield, efficiency, and safety, through Lean or Six Sigma methodology

  • Manage projects related to manufacturing process enhancement

  • Collaborate with design engineering, operations, and quality to improve manufacturability and resolve issues

  • Mentor peers as appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing or operations
