General Electric Lead Test Supervisor in Vandalia, Ohio
Job Description Summary
The Lead Test Supervisor will supervise and direct day to day activities of technical hourly (union) associates in production test operations supporting all products manufactured at the site. The role requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge and a strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Manage the labor productivity of the test area to >90%
Support and prioritize troubleshooting efforts of aerospace electronics and electrical power generation equipment to ensure 100% on time delivery to customers
Drive inventory reduction through efforts to improve test cycle time, identify, exploit, and elevate test constraints through development of OEE, OLE, and other equipment and labor constraint management metrics
Improve OEE of biggest test constraint to >70%
Develop a capacity model to drive cross functional communication and shared visibility of test capacity across the P&L
Work across the business with other coaches to accomplish shared objectives
Develop and drive improvement on appropriate site metrics
Address and correct EHS and quality concern reports
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma /GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Production Supervision
Desired Characteristics:
Strong electrical background and/or experience with electrical equipment
Exposure to complicated product, test equipment, & engineering
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to influence others; prior shop floor experience and union engagement preferred
Cross functional project management with an ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Lean background/experience
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Analytics acumen and development
Financial acumen and prior P&L exposure
Executive presence and leadership exposure
Strong oral and written communication skills
