Job Description Summary
The inspector is responsible for in-process and final assembly inspections of various aerospace components, sub- assemblies, and finished goods. This includes both mechanical and electrical inspections.
Performs inspection activities to assess conformance of products to the design as defined by engineering drawings, documented requirements, and/or models.
Inspects production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement verifications to ensure conformance to requirements, and communicating required adjustments to production supervisors.
Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement verifications, and other defined inspections to ensure conformance to requirements.
Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, and inputing data into quality database. This includes documenting non-conformances.
Maintains measurement equipment by following operating instructions and calibration requirements.
Inspects products, components, subassemblies, and/or systems to ensure conformance to requirements
Assists Quality and Manufacturing Engineers with identifying non-conforming conditions of products that present existing or impending defective conditions.
Assists Quality Engineers with preparation and update of inspection plans and checklists.
Assists Quality Engineers with data collection and root cause analysis investigations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic math skills
Basic computer skills
Understanding of GD&T
High school diploma
Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
2 Years Quality / Inspection experience or equivalent training and coursework
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
5 Years of Quality / Inspection Experience.
Knowledge of manufacturing standards such as J-Standard and IPC 610/620.
Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma
Experience using CMM equipment.
