General Electric Lead Service Specialist - Tender Support in Vadodara, India

Job Description Summary

• Participate in the preparation of Service tenders in Hydro Business according to customer specification

• The Services Specialist leads the tender costing and scheduling

• The Services Specialist reports to the Service Product Line Manager and works in close collaboration with the Sales Manager, Commercial Operations, and support functions

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation of the technical offer for Turbine and Generator Equipment but also for auxiliary equipment, to submit an optimized and competitive tender

  • Responsible for choosing the appropriate industrial scheme, best case solution, consolidating the costs, and setting up the schedule

  • Liaise with related functions and/or Service Line specialists located in other zones to ensure completeness of the offer

  • Participate in the definition of the risk and opportunities.

  • Occasionally support the Engineering Technical Tendering team in the definition of the solution related to Its knowledgeable scope (e.g: Generator, turbine, Control System, Governing system).

  • Occasionally support the Product team on request of the Product Line Manager.

  • Support the Sales or commercial operations for technical matters in front of the Client and Contractors

  • Support the Project Manager on any project related activity upon request

  • Support the other Technical Service’s zones for own area on demand of Product Line Manage

  • Propose any opportunities to improve the processes of Services activities to maintain and increase competitiveness

  • Improve the Technical Services personnel knowledge of his/her own area of expertise and enlarge area of expertise by learning from others

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in mechanical (preferred) or industrial engineering

  • Solid experience in engineering of mechanical machines (at least 10 years), preferably Generator/turbines with a good knowledge in Control system, governing systems and Hydromechanical equipment in the energy sector.

  • Good experience in project execution, ideally in the hydro business

  • Good commercial awareness and good understanding of legal and financial implications

  • Experience in commissioning would be an advantage

  • Familiar with the use of ERP-systems, MS Office, MS Project
