Job Description Summary
Roles will typically be aligned to specific businesses or sectors. Individuals will generally either be located at, and only support, a specific site or project (including construction), or have a role that requires specific industry/business expertise or interaction with specific business customers. This category will include those EHS professionals involved in “designing for EHS” (NPI), individuals responsible for customer or industry engagement, and EHS professionals working at customer sites or projects (generally not managing teams of EHS professionals or regions).
Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
The incumbent will monitor the organization’s Environment, Health & Safety. This person will work to make working environment of organization a safe & better place to work and will collaborate with the organization’s other stakeholders to build the culture of safety. The person should be able to work with minimum support adhering to the tight timelines.
Role and Responsibility:
The incumbent must have experience to work in the following areas independently.
Assures compliance with OSHA, lockout/tagout, PPE, ergonomics, workers compensation, safety training and EPA compliance of plant.
Successful implementation of programs to meet local, state, and federal compliance, including employee training and drive behavioral-based culture practices by closely working with leaders and employees to find and resolve risks.
Develop and implement a comprehensive training program in accordance with all applicable environmental and safety regulations.
Establish and maintain facility specific management plans for hazardous waste and non-hazardous materials.
Maintain all environmental reports, permits and recordkeeping requirements to operate the facility and on-site equipment.
Analyze systemic incident causes and assist in developing and implementing corrective actions.
Evaluate first aids, near misses and recordable accidents to drive proactive programs to prevent future recordable accidents Audit treatment, storage, disposal and recycling facilities that handle, process and dispose all operational wastes. E.g. conduct ride-along with employees to uncover risks and coach/mentor employees on safe work practices.
Conduct safety inspections in the facility.
Develop EHS specifications for procurement of parts/materials if required.
Provide technical expertise on safety, health, fire and environmental conditions and requirements for manufacturing, operation and maintenance and licensing / permit functions.
Prepare all EH&S reports required by customers, company personnel, and/or regulatory agencies.
Provide input to the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and coordinate EH&S activities related to the plan.
Oversight of hazardous waste disposal program.
Provide oversight and guidance (Subject Matter Expert) for special risks jobs.
Review and recommend cost reduction strategies for EH&S programs.

Bachelors with 10+ years of experience. Experience of a plant/manufacturing site is must.
Must have an EHS degree (PDIS + Environment) with vernacular language understanding.
