General Electric Product Manager - Production Optimization in Toronto, Ontario

Job Description Summary

As the Digital Product Manager for Production Optimization, you will be responsible for creating strong working relationships & influence across executive leadership, product management, engineering and other functional groups to execute the strategy to grow GE Digital’s products for Production Optimization. You will work with partners, developers, to operationalize and scale the global expansion of these businesses.

Job Description

Responsible for refinement and execution of the GE Digital Material Optimization and Manufacturing Supply Chain Visibility product strategy.

As the market and domain expert for your portfolio, you will engage customers at Sr-Level management and technical levels to develop/refine portfolio strategy, influence customer on industry direction and execute strategy.

As Product Manager you will be responsible to lead across the organization to ensure product can be sold, supported, and launched on time, representing GE to the outside market, develop the associated ecosystem of partners and early adopters and validating the business case and customer value drivers.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Drives vision & strategy, roadmap and product lifecycle for sub business unit and its portfolio of products & solutions.

  • Be a domain/business expert for the portfolio to guide and mentor teams, and establish/refine product management processes.

  • Identifies and influences market trends and opportunities.

  • Leverage iDNA innovation process to define market segmentation, competitive differentiation, customer value proposition and pricing

  • Significant time with customers and market, segmenting and prioritizing customer needs and translating them into product requirements.

  • Responsible for product line performance with targets on orders, revenue, cost & margin. Work with Finance to create P&L and multi-year financial projections

  • Work cross functionally across engineering, marketing, sales, internal and external customers, analysts and senior management teams to formulate and execute the strategy.

  • Establish and manage relationship across GE businesses & sub-businesses, partners, customers and technical experts across industries and geographies.

  • Establish strong working relationship with account managers, technical sales and user/developer community.

  • Global travel required as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Customer-facing/ executive experience

  • Lean and or other VOC-based problem-solving approach

  • Strong project management skills

  • Analytics, scenario modeling

  • Requirements gathering and translation (roadmap, project plan detailed development and execution)

  • Launch experience (digital a plus but not required)

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires advanced experience in the Product Management & Digital Product Manager. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
