Baker Hughes, a GE Company is currently hiring a Research and Development Scientists supporting Pressure Pumping at our facility in Tomball, Texas.
The Research Scientist will be responsible for managing multiple projects relating to research and design in order to develop new cementing products related to cementing services.
In addition, the scientist will be expected to analyze and interpret data from the testing and summarize if into a report format.
Finally, the scientist will be responsible for introducing new technology ideas to grow the research and development portfolio.
Plans and conducts research, designs experiments and analyzes data to understand products and mechanisms for the development of new products and processes.
Applies fundamental understanding of wellbore cementing to solve problems, initiate projects, and provide innovative ideas.
Plans and performs lab testing to provide results
Collaborates with Product Line, colleagues, and other product lines
Participates in development of standards, conferences and committees to show industry leadership
Bachelor's Degree in Scientific discipline with 6+ years’ experience. Master’s Degree and 4-6yrs experience. Ph.D. and 2-4 yrs. experience 3+ years of extensive hands on experience and knowledge of all testing related to cementing best practices as outlined in API 10B-2 standard testing procedures
Familiar with cement testing and slurry designing for purpose
Cementing lab experience and knowledge of cementing chemicals and functionality
Ability to apply knowledge of materials used in the industry to aid in new product development.
Verbal and written communication skills
Must be action-oriented, ethical in values, and have a strong focus on satisfying customers
Strong analytical skills
Communicates well both individually and in a team environment
Demonstrates project management skills
Self-motivating, goal oriented, and determined
3+ years laboratory testing experience
PhD in Scientific discipline with 3+ years cementing research work experience
Phase–gate process or a stage-gate process experience preferred
- Business travel may be required for both domestic and International locations
