Job Description Summary
Negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies. Achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction. Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
Initiates, support, leads, aligns, interact, and handles all Sourcing related activities, in line with DOA, at the specific, assigned LM location. Be the Go-To person at the location and is the intermediate between all Sourcing functions and the site.
Roles and Responsibilities
Define supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels. Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers. Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement. Manage claims. Includes commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc. This may also include purchasing activities.
Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults People Leader or more senior team members for issues outside of defined parameters.
Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
Handles simple data entry work requiring face value check and correction.
Drive contracts and, initiates of opportunities for savings for B/C-class direct materials and all locally used direct materials and services, in cooperation with colleagues where possible.
PT extension and maintenance for key B/C items’ suppliers in China region.
Lead and support local implementation of Sourcing tools (e-catalogs, P-Card, e-sourcing)
Supplier/item data/ price/ etc. info update in system like SCX.AX etc, ensure them aligned with ERP/SCX finally same as the fact.
Lead and support for BC/MT of items ready before the new blade launch
Ensure strict adoption and implementation of all ethics and compliance regulations and train/inform relevant stake holders
Ensure full implementation of agreed contracts, Business share allocations made by applicable Commodity Leaders for Direct Materials (A & D-Class items) into the local system.
Be the Sourcing representative and first point of escalation for supplier related issues at the location.
Maintain plant vendor list and terms updated and in line with Commodity strategy.
Other works assigned by sourcing leaders
Support/Build for monthly reporting & and Budget forecast in coordination with Global Sourcing.
Keep Cost Reduction Initiative trackers updated
Management and feeding in local IT systems
For roles outside of the USA- This role requires basic experience in the Sourcing & Commodity Management. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
Leadership skills of non-direct reports; IT- Excel skills; Knowledge of Procurement and ERP systems; 1-2 years functional experience in Sourcing /Procurement.
CPM/CPSM etc. preferred.
Facilitating; Project management
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
