General Electric Lead Mechanical Component Engineer in Tianjin, China

Role Summary:

The Lead Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Complete global and subassembly basic design including check lists independently, including standards, EHS, interface, FoE, etc.

  2. Schedule review of basic design including EHS and follow up.

3 Apply optimization design actions on project

4 In charge of technical supporting of supply chain and solve related technical issue independently;

5 In charge of project FoE;

6 Check or Approve related drawings, specifications, and calculation sheet in line with quality instructions.

7 If necessary, in charge of basic design review and drawings checking of another project.


Education level: Bachelor Degree in mechanical engineering

Experience : Several years experience on professional design in Hydro industry (At least 4 years)

Language : Fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarins ability

Compute : Skilled at CAD and Windows Office software

General Knowledge of hydraulic / General knowledge of mechanisms

Knowledge of methods and manufacturing processes: Boilers, Welding, Forging and Casting, Machining, Assembly, Stamping, Sheet Metal Cutting, Conformation Mechanics, assembly and painting

Ability to deliver results in an uncertainty scenario

Experience in turbine or generator design is a must.

Knowledge in Mechanical calculation with previous working experience.

Ability to work with global team members across cultural boundaries

Ability to work in a demanding, high performance work environment and team-oriented culture;

Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations and make judgements based on practice or previous experience
