Job Description Summary
Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.
Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
Please note :
The position can be located anywhere remotely in Brazil if there is flexibility on travel to site as well as occasional meetings in HQ in Taubate.
Roles and Responsibilities
Conducts component and product integration. All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance and operability. Manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down. Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system
Manages interface between components and execution organizations.
Responsible for driving Risk & Opportunities within the teams designing the components.
Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

Drive GE Hydro Engineering & integration: Core knowledge in BoP-Mechanical and Governing Hydraulic & other interfacing knowledge with BoP-Electrical,Protection, Excitation, Control System, Electronic Governing, Plant Layout and network (piping, cable tray, duct etc), Other plant utilities and auxiliaries, Generator, Turbine, MIV etc
Manage all technical interfaces (internal &external)
Coordinate with internal customer (supply chain, C&C, Project Management, Quality etc) & External customer (Consortium partners, vendors, customer, service providers etc)
Manage action in case of technical deviations and changes
Own the overall technical project scope
Represent technical aspects in front of customers & partners
Participate in Site Survey & ensure site survey inputs are well taken care in to design
This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Systems Engineering. Knowledge level is comparable to a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in project execution and engineering design of new and refurbishment of Balance of Plant – Mechanical & Hydraulic systems. Site experience (Construction & Commissioning) welcomed

Receive handover documents, analyze, and prepare work package for COEs (Central of Excellency)
Lead on planning, deliverable list, budget allocation, contract analysis & identification of Risk & Opportunities with Project team.
Organize and lead a Design Kick Off meeting with the project Engineering team.
Partner with PSCM (Supply chain Manager) to meet project material cost target
Collaborate with Project Core Team to optimize project plans
Drive technical coordination with Customer, Project Management, Engineering, Partners
Ensures efficient Design reviews on time
Owns technical risks/opportunities assessment in collaboration with project team
Drive technical support to site for Engineering resolution issues
Partner with PSCM to ensure processes meant to secure safety and quality are applied
Participate & lead site survey, ensure detailed site survey report is prepared which is useful for refurbishment scope of project. Ensure site survey inputs are well taken care in to design and detailed disassembly and assembly sequences are defined as per the scope
