Job Description Summary
Hear at our H/Q Centre of Excellence in Tampere, the Sales Specialist owns and leads the technical and commercial bid preparation and contract negotiations for GE’s Grid Solutions FACTS projects from customer inquiry through contract signature and handover to the execution team.
Renewable - Grid Business - FACTS Product Line
The FACTS Product Line stands in GE, Renewables, Grid Solutions.
The Product Line is fully accountable for the complete Profit and Loss (P&L) of the FACTS business worldwide. As such, it owns its sales/tendering force, operations, R&D and product management in different locations around the world.
It benefits of a complete portfolio of solutions/products to propose electrical reactive power compensations options to Grid Operators, TSOs, Developers, etc, composed of FSC, Synchronous Condensers, SVC and STATCOM. For which GE holds a market / product leadership positions as well as some opportunities to grow.
An overall plan for growth has been elaborated focusing on either technical leapfrogs or market exploration/acquisitions to reach our growth objectives.
Our commercial intensity is of paramount importance. Accordingly, we are reinforcing our Bid Management team to lead our offers preparation and secure strategic alignment between customers, partners and our Centers of Excellence in Tampere, Finland and Saratoga Springs, USA.
Achieve GE FACTS orders volume and profitability objectives
Coordinate and own all technical and commercial aspects of the bid during inquiry-to-order phase.
Lead and interact with all stake holders (Engineering, Project Management Commercial Operation, Finance, Legal, and Regional Sales teams) to establish the commercial and execution strategies , including identifying the winning price level, contract structure, and customer facing sales activities.
Ensure that GE's FACTS proposals are appropriate commercially and technically to the requirements of the customers and in full compliance with the company risk management and Environmental Health and Safety governance.
Develop in-depth knowledge of products, projects , technologies, sales processes, markets, commercial strategies, and customers.
Make proposal decisions that stay within the defined framework but create the best chance of success. Leverage multiple sources to arrive at decisions.
Ensure clean hand off over to the execution team.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
Knowledge of contractual terms and conditions
Fluent in written & spoken English
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
Working technical knowledge of FACTS devices and High Voltage AC Transmission Systems
Experience with contract negotiations including terms and conditions
Strong organizational and indirect leadership skills.
Established project management skills.
Strong business acumen including financial skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems, Strategic thinking
Ability to perform effectively in a matrix management.
Availability to travel , as needed.
Strong commercial negotiations skills
We operate a 37.5 hour week, ideally to based in office , although we operate flexible work location/pattern.
