General Electric Staff Project Manager in Taipei, Taiwan

Job Description Summary

Provides expertise in project implementation and customer success and growth in the post-sales customer lifecycle through training, professional services, technical support, renewals, outcome attainment, retention, expansion, and customer advocacy with a Digital focus. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement projects at various customer work sites in the Taiwan and abroad, including the activities of staff and subcontractors. The primary customer contact for the duration of each project. May commission, resolve specification issues, handle correspondence, provide periodic updates, ensure customer satisfaction, and negotiate/coordinate with staff as appropriate.

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering or Engineering from an accredited College or University

  • Certification in project management (PMP/PgMP/Prince2).

  • Minimum of 10 years in a customer / client facing technical role (Pre / Post Sales, Sales Engineering, Consulting, Solutions Architecture, Service Delivery, etc.)

  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience leading large and complex professional teams

  • Experience un system integration and software application implementation projects

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

  • Managed teams of 15-20 persons across multiple technical and functional disciplines in delivering solutions aligned with customer needs.

  • Experience working in regulated environment, understanding of EHS requirements and applicability to projects preferred.

  • Understanding of Public Construction Committee (PCC) for projects is an added advantage.

  • Proficient in Mandarin and Englishand located in Taiwan.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, influence, and successfully deliver results on project execution.

  • Works well under pressure in a matrix environment

  • Outstanding program management & leadership skills

  • Experience on maintenance & operation of power plants.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
