General Electric EHS Coordinator in Subang, Malaysia

Role Summary:

The EHS Coordinator will provide site support to a fixed facility. Within this role, you will apply your environmental, health and safety knowledge and expertise to solve problems, develop & execute objectives for yourself and others, while having the ability to effect short and long term business goals or projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a Document Controller, manage and oversee EHS documents. Ensure proper documents are compiled and stored (hardcopy & electronic) and backed up and any retention requirement are followed. Responds in a timely manner to requests to retrieve information, information searches and general requests for support.

  2. Key in ATS and inspection elements. Follow up and monitor the execution for each ATS of EHS Walkabout, Incident/Event & IH Assessment & Audit.

  3. Review and update contents of the SDS Online system. Add new Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to online database as required.

  4. Act as person in charge for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ensure PPE stock and storage, purchasing, issuance and data is in place. To conduct PPE selection analysis to ensure PPE supplied to internal needs comply to Risk assessments and suitable for the needs.

  5. Conduct EHS equipment inspection as per instruction. i.e Emergency equipment, safety shower, etc.

  6. Order and stock supplies (office, safety, security, flags, etc.). Vendor invoicing, process PO’s, check requests, and assist with budget tracking.

  7. Monitor and follow up on WF raised (i.e SCWF, PO and delivery status) to meet target dateline for task execution.

  8. Monitor Training tracker & follow up the training arrangement.

  9. Monitor & Keep Track of Compliance Calendar.

  10. Assist in conducting EHS briefing to new staff and contractors.

  11. Assist in implement and administer safety and health programs.

  12. Assist with regulatory inspections and permit compliance.

  13. Assist on the investigation and communicate lesson learnt.

  14. Assist in Industrial Hygiene Quantitative & Qualitative Assessment – CEM & CHRA & LEV Assessment & Noise Monitoring & Audiometric Testing

  15. Ensure safety equipment calibrations up to date.

  16. Schedule, coordinate meetings (safety meetings, etc.)

  17. Assist in maintaining first aid facility.

  18. Ensure 5S at EHS are implemented.

  19. Collect data on hours worked for OSHA Log.

  20. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by superior or Management from time to time.


  1. Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in any filed

  2. Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia/English

  3. At least 2 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

  4. Experience in environmental quality act, scrubber/WWTP/Schedule waste is value added

  5. Experience in conducting inspection/audit is value added
