Job Description Summary

Logistics Operative - Working in our HVDC Manufacturing site in Stafford. Be part of a team of 5 supporting Stores Logistics off loading incoming material and outgoing finished product.

Job Description

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Component on time delivery:

  • Responsible for the preparation and delivery of components to the line side to maintain continuity of manufacturing.

  • Loading and unloading of components and finished goods to support achievement of production targets.


  • Assist with waste disposal procedures and recycling waste where possible.

SAP / Inventory:

  • Support completing all necessary paperwork as and when required.

  • Develop skills to allow booking in of components as required

  • Contribute and support PI counting and stock accuracy tasks

Continuous Improvement:

  • Propose any improvement actions that will enhance stores performance without impacting safety regulations.


  • Responsible for the quality of the product packaging during loading/un-loading

Health and Safety

  • Co-operate and work in conjunction with the relevant personnel to ensure best practice with regard to environment health & safety issues.

  • Demonstrate commitment to safety through participation in formal and informal discussions

  • Adhere to all safe working procedures in accordance with instructions

  • Ensure safety work instructions are complied

  • Participate in the resolution of safety issues.

  • Initiate actions to improve health and safety where needed


  • As & when required support any other duties that may be required to support the manufacturing facility.

  • Line Stop KPI

  • Waste Segregation

  • General Housekeeping (5S)

Job Location/Mobility Requirements

  • Based in Stafford.

  • Some local travel maybe required.

Person Specification

Educational Requirements

  • Good general standard of education.

  • In depth experience in the operation of factory stores environment or similar.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of computerized stores management systems (Knowledge of SAP would be beneficial)

  • Knowledge of Kanban / FIFO systems desirable

  • Forklift truck operator certificate

  • Counter-Balance/Aisle Master License desirable

  • Multi-Directional (Combi) License desirable

  • Safe working practices within a working environment. (EHS)
