GE Aerospace Repair Engineer in the Shop in Springdale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

As a Repair Engineer in the Shop, you will be support ACSC site in Cincinnati, Ohio. This site is a component repair shop for our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) network. This role will work with a variety of stakeholders to support the site using repair engineering disciplines.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • As an Engineer in the Shop (EIS), provide on-site technical support within the component repair engineering discipline to various shop representatives.

  • Participate and contribute in relevant shop operating rhythms and other sessions as required.

  • Coordinate with repair engineers and supply chain industrialization teams for new repair support and global shop transitions.

  • Routinely seek out process/repeat Departure Record (DR)/and other shop disruptions and work the established business processes with hardware owners across Repair Engineering and Product Line Life Cycle Engineers on engineering deliverables that will address these concerns.

  • Development of repair and inspection technologies, process qualification, and industrialization. Related program deliverables to repair facilities for new and updated processes.

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

  • 3 years of experience in engineering, repair, or an applicable discipline

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in Repair or Services Engineering preferred.

  • Good understanding of Aviation repair manuals

  • Understanding FAA regulations and how it pertains to repair

  • Prior Aviation Experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Established project management skills.
