Job Description Summary

Role will be based out of a component repair shop. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems;

  • Facilitate organization and leadership development efforts to address the root cause of EHS related issues.

  • Coach management and employees at all levels to ensure compliance with all EHS program expectations and applicable federal & state laws;

  • Conducting risk assessments related to jobs performed by employees and suggests risk mitigation strategies through the Job Safety Analysis process;

  • Recommending and implementing appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics;

  • Training and assisting others (managers, employees, etc.) to complete their safety and compliance responsibilities (audits, follow safety rules, etc.);

  • Conducting appropriate inspections and audits, and ensuring corrective actions are monitored and documented;

  • Conducting EHS training as needed, including new employee and contractor orientation;

  • Responding to and investigating events including injuries and near-miss events.

  • Drive closure of effective corrective / preventive actions, as assigned;

  • Perform other duties, as assigned, in support of the EHS Program.

Minimum Requirements: :

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of EHS experience (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of EHS experience).

Desired Characteristics:

  • Prefer a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety and/or Occupational Health Management, or similar discipline.

  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and work well with others in order to manage projects, meetings.

  • Works well independently and in a group environment.
