General Electric Lead Machining & Tooling Engineer in Singapore, Singapore

Role Summary:The Lead Machining & Tooling Engineer role will be responsible for the project management of the RDC Tooling and Machining projects, supporting GE repair technology and productivity initiatives. In this role you will coordinate with the various Infrastructure services teams, to drive standardized tools, fixtures, and CNC programs around the global repair network to deliver quality and productivity, as well as transactional services growth.

Essential Responsibilities:The focus of this role is to lead projects that identify, develop, industrialize and globalize Tooling and Machining technology for the services network. This role has the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Lead the execution of design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

• Recommend approaches to meet the technical and program requirements

• Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, scheduling, and contract commitments

• Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems

• Provide technical leadership to other personnel; mentor others in the organization

• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

• Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments

• Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks

• Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

Qualifications/Requirements:• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college

• Minimum 5 additional years of experience working in, with, and/or supporting manufacturing environment.

• Travel to repair centers, customer sites, and other locations needed globally (10-20%)

Desired Characteristics:• Familiarity with tooling selection, fixture design, CAD, CAM and metrology

• Additional experience in manufacture or component repair for industrial gas turbines

• Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Equivalent Quality certification

• Sound materials background

• Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

• Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers

• Understands business objectives and drives specific tasks required to meet the objectives
