General Electric Lead Inventory & Fixed Asset Analyst in Singapore, Singapore

Job Description Summary

The Inventory & Fixed Assets Analyst is pivotal to the business in ensuring the accuracy of the Inventory and Fixed Assets accounting records in compliance with GE policies and statutory requirements with strong process controls. In this role, the analyst will work closely with operating teams to drive excellence in inventory management and capital investment decisions.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Closing and reporting: Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the month-end Inventory & Fixed Assets closing cycle and reporting activities (e.g. Inventory Scorecard, Inventory Turns, Fixed Assets Spent vs Budget). Work closely with the Materials team to validate quarter end shipments for proper revenue cut-off and corresponding inventory balance adjustment. Support the annual inventory (yearly) and fixed assets (once every 5 years) physical count across the business facilities.

  • Controllership: Ensure that inventory & fixed assets accounting treatment adheres to GE policies, government, and statutory reporting requirements. Focal point of contact to Operations to provide guidance on Inventory & Fixed Assets accounting & policy matters and lead inventory obsolescence review.

  • Audit: Support the annual financial audit by providing Inventory and Fixed Assets records that fulfill the statutory audit requirements on a timely basis, including any internal audit requests from time to time.

  • Cashflow forecast and optimization : Responsible to work with Operation teams to ensure the accuracy and timely submission of quarterly inventory and fixed assets balance forecast to HQ. Connect the dots between revenue and inventory dynamics in the shop and support initiatives to optimize inventory.

  • Capex Planning & Analysis: Support the business annual capital expenditure planning and review cycle. Participate with operations in the capital investment decisions and track implementations within budget and schedule. After capitalization, lead the process to evaluate capex benefits realization.

  • Process simplification: Challenge status quo and proactively simplify or automate key workstreams to reduce effort, improve quality of outcomes and improve operations’ understanding of financial drivers.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of Finance experience with 3 to 4 years in a manufacturing business environment within a large organization

  • University degree in accounting , finance, business management, or similar qualification.

  • Strong controllership and compliance mindset, individual with high level of integrity

  • A clear thinker with proven record to plan, lead and execute tasks assigned with attention to detail

  • A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and track record of strong partnership with operations

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong ERP experience , proficient in MS Excel, experience with Power Query a plus

  • Knowledge and application of IFRS and US GAAP
