Job Description Summary

This role reports Chief Communications Officer, GE International Markets and works closely with the President / Leaders of each of the following countries / zones; ASEAN & ANZ, Japan and Korea. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced communications executive with a minimum of 15 years experience to be a strategic, trusted partner working closely with the GEIM leadership team. This position will lead/manage the following regional communication disciplines/programs: Reputation & Thought Leadership, Brand Management, PR & Media Relations, Digital Communications and Executive Communications.

Job Description


  • Develop and execute an effective communications strategy that is aligned with regional / national priorities and GE’s business strategy, and supports the delivery of business objectives.

  • Responsible for the company’s reputation, including positioning and messaging strategy esp. on key company themes. Develop thought leadership strategy; identify opportunities and manage region’s speaker and conference participation.

  • Manage country brand campaign aligned to business blueprint & local audience understanding. Measure brand performance and KPI campaign tracking.

  • Manage digital and social media platforms; adopting creative content strategy, strong engagement and outreach program through GE’s various channels.

  • Build media relationships working with major regional business media to drive proactive storytelling. Responsible for Line of Sight process & operating rhythm to ensure coordination and story sharing. Responsible for written communications including press releases, holding statements, Q&As, position papers, pitches and employee communications. Manage PR agency including monitoring and measurement securing a favorable share-of-voice relative to competitors.

  • Responsible for executive and leadership communications as well as provide communications counsel and insights to leadership team on complex / critical priorities as well as issues/opportunities.

  • Proactively partner in identifying & assessing emerging issues & developing crisis communications plans in coordination with the businesses and other functions for potential significant threats to the GE brand, providing appropriate messaging and responses. Use data, research, analytics & intelligence to focus on foresight and inform strategy and identify reputational issues and opportunities. Maintain issues heat map.


  • Minimum 15 years of communications experience (media relations, public relations, event management, employee comms) with a Corporate multinational and/or PR agency with major blue-chip clients

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or Marketing degrees

  • Proven track record of delivering contemporary communications strategy in support of business objectives

  • Demonstrate team-leading capability

  • Demonstrate excellent judgement and understanding of how to navigate complexity in a matrix and multi-stakeholder environment, problem solver

  • Experience in crisis communications and issues management

  • Strong oral and written communications skills; strong writing and presentation skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Self-directed; highly motivated, team player

  • Creative, thoughtful, persuasive storyteller.

  • Fluency in English and other local languages.
