General Electric Asia Commercial Leader – Power Generation in Singapore, Singapore

Job Description Summary

GE Digital’s Power Generation business is looking for a Commercial Leader for the Asia region who will be accountable to drive new revenue streams across the organization. The role is to lead the Commercial P&L within the Power Generation organization and operation across the Asia territories. The role's primary mission will be to expand the penetration of digital solutions across the power generation ecosystem.

Reporting to Julio Mestroni, Chief Commercial Officer for Power Generation, the Asia Digital Commercial Leader will lead a team of digital sellers and work in close partnership with other functions across GE GED PGOG to build sales capabilities, plan and forecast regional orders, help manage key accounts and analyze/improve sales performance. Key to success in this role is building a partnership with other GE BU’s (Gas Power and Steam Power) and their commercial teams and driving increased margin through more effective value selling and setting of customer expectations.

The Asia Digital Commercial Leader will own the cultivation of a customer-focused business rooted in outcome selling behaviors with C-suite customers. He/she will be responsible for transforming the existing sales organization, leading the sales team across the Asia and developing best practices and operations that facilitate the development of strong revenue projections/pipeline and customer acquisition for the new solutions being engineered by Power Generation.

The Asia Digital Commercial Leader will be a champion for the commercial organization as the visible face with key customers in the Asia region on critical pipeline opportunities across Power Generation, in external markets/events, and with external talent acquisition.

The Asia Digital Commercial Leader will leverage the depth of expertise in the connected industrial and software industry to evangelize the business value proposition; to develop a strategic, focused plan to create that market; and deploy a team of outcome selling resources to methodically execute on key priorities.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of experience in sales operations, strategic sales leadership and marketing ideally gained in Tier 1 enterprise software companies and innovative companies in the evolving industrial, Big Data, Mobile or Cloud space. Shortlist candidates will be expected to champion messaging and educate key stakeholders on how to evolve and position enterprise solutions and our integrated offering effectively with respective target markets and to partner with cross-functional teams in the evolution of new GE capabilities. Shortlist candidates will also possess experience and competencies to:

  • Develop a robust vision and strategy and provide leadership and direction to the Asia Power Generation sales team to ensure alignment with key accounts and partnership with other GE BU partners. This will include creating the right mix of commercial talent to win today’s business and to scale for tomorrow. In addition, the development of strong rapport with key stakeholders, including Region-level sales leaders.

  • Be an active participant in defining, building and implementing a global Power Generation commercial strategy; develop GTM strategy and execute it by closely working with business teams, customers and partners

  • Build strong, productive relationships with the GE Gas Power and Steam Power organizations and commercial teams

  • Drive increased margin through more effective value selling and setting of customer expectations.

  • Obtain and maintain a strong business understanding of our technology, value propositions and future development roadmaps, and foster close relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally

  • Create and develop new markets for services and products; lead and set the tone for the industry

  • Drive collaboration with other regional sales leaders to deliver comprehensive solution sales across the vertical lines of business

  • Drive Talent Management strategy in the sales organization and provide coaching, performance management, and development activities for the sales organization to ensure leadership development and successful execution of business plans

  • Lead the next generation of sales performance management and develop new innovative sales models to drive increased efficiency and effectiveness

  • Lead system and process development to ensure customer satisfaction goals are achieved

  • Drive global coordination for the effective management of Strategic Accounts

  • Create a dynamic work atmosphere to motivate employees and create winning teams

Candidate Experience Requirements:

  • Leadership experience should include responsibility for coordinating sales teams across a multi-national geography, B2B direct and channel customer base

  • Strong financial acumen to drive increased margin through more effective value selling

  • He/she must have well-developed strategic planning skills and a demonstrated ability to successfully lead a complex matrix sales organization

  • He/she must be able to effectively challenge the status quo and network both upwards and downwards within an organization, while being mindful of and sensitive to cultural differences that may exist across global boundaries.

  • He/she must have demonstrated ability to implement innovation and drive transformation
