Job Description Summary

The primary role of the Advanced Technology Researcher is to develop new methods for applying Additive Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence and Automation, Ceramic Matrix Composites, Chemical and Electrochemical processes, Metallurgical or Robotics technology to the repair of aircraft engine components.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work with GE Technology centres around the world to develop new methods for repairing aircraft engine components.

  • Apply advanced technologies to improve yield and raise productivity in the aircraft engine MRO field. Areas of interest include:

  • Metal additive manufacturing

  • Artificial Intelligence including vision systems and pattern recognition

  • Automation & Robotics

  • Ceramic Matrix Composites

  • Electrochemistry

  • Metallurgy

  • Laser machining

  • Chemical Vapour Deposition and Thermal Spray Coatings

  • Develop robust processes that can consistently meet cost and delivery targets.

  • Maintain high standards of Quality and EHS.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master's or PhD in Engineering or Physical Sciences

  • Familiar with advanced technologies for materials processing

  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate at a variety of levels from researchers to shopfloor technicians
