Job Description

The Maintenance Planner will schedule, organize, and document the maintenance process for the Prolec GE USA, LLC. Shreveport site. Based on the equipment reliability needs of the facility, the planner will plan and put the maintenance system into motion.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance scheduling and creating work orders.

  • Improving maintenance management systems.

  • Creating predictive, emergency, and preventive maintenance schedules.

  • Ensuring optimal maintenance performance and workforce productivity.

  • Working with other team members to develop more cost-effective repair solutions and lower overall maintenance costs.

  • Developing manuals and procedures for technicians and mechanics.

  • Responsible for administration of the sites CMMS system.

  • Assist with parts and tooling inventories.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and weekends, as required

  • Ability and willingness to qualify for / utilize specialized personal protective equipment as required for the position, including confined space and fall protection

  • Ability and willingness to obey all safety rules, including wearing personal protective equipment (i.e., steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection in designated areas)

Desired Characteristics

  • Troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, electrical & mechanical drawings, and other specifications to determine repair method for failed components.

  • Working knowledge of mechanical principles.

  • Strong technical and troubleshooting capabilities.

  • General knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and industrial controls.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

  • Ability to learn quickly with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
