General Electric Staff Application Operations Engineer in Shenyang, China

Job Description Summary

Responsible for all aspects of delivering production support & operations of GE REN Oracle ERP applications acting as a single point of contact for ONW, OFW China businesses. This role is a key member of the ERP DevOps team of Oracle ERP organization providing thought leadership and direction on ERP helping the

business users in resolving issues & maintaining application stability.

Very critical aspect of this is to ensure a smooth month & quarter close, building relationship with business & finance leadership across Renewables

This role is not limited to the day to day operations but also involves working closely with business and functional stakeholders in identifying the process improvement opportunities in the areas of responsibilities.

The individual would also be responsible to lead the enhancements and Operations excellence for plants mentioned below closely coordinating with various stakeholders like project teams, technical design teams,

functional teams, business teams etc., for Races Oracle ERP.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Responsible for day to day production support and operations of Oracle ERP applications

  • Responsible to serve as SCM / ASCP solution expert with Oracle ERP

  • Accountable for metric driven environment

  • Accountable for solution delivery at an agreed SLA Drive regular meetings like closure, status update, metric call, lean / automation ideas with required stakeholders to improve user experience

  • Work with vendor partner teams and internal GE resources to ensure a smooth delivery of services

  • Responsible for uptime and performance of applications in scope Works closely with global stakeholders both from DT organization and manufacturing, supply chain, finance and services function and meet their delivery expectations

  • Works closely with implementation teams to ensure a smooth transition of implementation into operations

  • Participate in budgeting, process and manage major enhancement projects Responsible for building on vendor relations and ensure an alignment of priorities between GE and vendors

  • Drive Digital solution in manufacture plant, use digital software/tool to simplify shop operation process and enhance productivity

  • Drive solutions in support of key initiatives and strategy, lead Wind business-critical ERP programs from initiation to closure

  • Lead system development & responsible for program deliveries in Wind China plants

Desired Characteristics:

  • Proven experience and track record managing ERP operations & Implementations for at least 5 years.

  • Hands-on experience in 24x7x365 ERP operations preferred

  • Hands-on management of vendor resources and relationship Experience in implementation of Operational tools like deployment, provisioning, monitoring, performance measurement etc.

  • Experienced in resolving performance & availability of ERP applications

  • Skilled in breaking down problems and solving it innovatively.

  • Ability to take ownership of projects and deliver while mentoring and helping team

  • Able to ensure understanding of issues and present clear rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Can use two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing results

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Be fluent with oral and written Chinese.

  • Prefer to base in Shenyang close to manufacture plant


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, Finance or other technical related fields with minimum 8-10 years relevant work experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience responsible in delivering operations, implementations on ERP environments in SCM/ASCP area

  • Familiarity working in a shared services environment supporting a large, geographically distributed user base.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Incident Management / Problem Management
