General Electric Commodity Site Leader - Shenyang in Shenyang, China

Role Summary:

The Commodity Sourcing Leader (CSL) will be responsible for implementing the commercial strategy with suppliers into the Shenyang Multi-Modal Factory (MMF). CSL will report directly to the MMF Global Commodity Leader and will work closely with on-site fulfillment team. CSL will support supplier management to reduce costs, while continuing to meet delivery and quality requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Global Commodity Leaders to share & deploy strategy and report status for Shenyang MMF

• Lead the validation of costed BOM’s accuracy utilized in Shenyang, that will be utilized to target cost out, lead-time and pay terms initiatives

• Contribute to definition and implementation of the sourcing strategy for Shenyang MMF

• Focus on fulfillment risks and drive mitigation strategies to reduce lead time, support lean and meet capacity with suppliers

• Support cost out with suppliers of Shenyang MMF and cross functional teams targeted at achieving annual product cost goals

• Develop a strong relationship with Manufacturing, Engineering and Product Line teams to partner in driving key sourcing and business objectives around part standardization, on time delivery, cost, cash, supplier quality, NPI and fulfillment

• Manage internal GE relationships to develop and manufacture low cost, localized product when strategically required

• Support the selection of new suppliers, development of existing suppliers, and overall supplier management

• Evaluate and help develop alternate sources to reduce single and sole sources

• Interact with Shenyang site team to understand business needs and develop supply chain strategies that optimize total requirements

• Develop technical and market expertise in commodity areas


• Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university

• Minimum 6 years of sourcing or global supply chain experience

• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required, estimated at 30%
