General Electric Tax Operations Leader Asia in Shanghai, China

Essential Responsibilities:• Be a key member of GE Healthcare’s global tax team

• Manage tax corporate income and value-added tax compliance teams and processes for the Asia region, including related account reconciliations;

• Oversee the tax accounting process for Asia, including coordination with the central tax accounting team related to ETR analysis and reporting, uncertain tax position reserve computations, intercompany tax settlements, tax return true-up analysis and other ASC 740 related activities;

• Coordinate with other GE Healthcare tax team members, statutory auditors and external tax advisors

• Manage internal control procedures for corporate income and value-added taxes and coordinate with internal and attest auditors for internal controls testing as applicable

• Work with the broader tax team to ensure tax positions are thoroughly and contemporaneously documented

• Team with the rest of the Tax Operations leadership team to driver operational excellence and continuously improve the tax controllership and operations environment

• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize multiple projects, tasks, and strict deadlines;

• Capable of taking ownership and accountability for a project from start to finish;

• Sound technical and practical judgment, permitting ability to work with a high degree of autonomy;

• Strong project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including the ability to interpret and document complex technical information in a manner which is clearly understood by non-tax personnel, internal process owners, and external advisors;

• Willingness to learn quickly and consistently to both achieve excellent results and to grow their own capabilities;

• Proactively manage both internal and external resources;

• Strong work ethic combined with the ability to consistently maintain high service, quality, efficiency, and ethical standards; and

• Ability to thrive in an environment where coordination and teamwork is a priority.

Requirements:

• Accounting bachelor’s degree or equivalent required;

• Master’s in Taxation/Accounting and CPA or similar credential preferred;

• Written and verbal fluency in English;

• Minimum 10 years of tax experience with a large publicly-traded multinational company and/or Big 4 accounting firm with a focus on tax compliance;

• Strong people leader with a commitment to developing and training team members, promoting a collaborative work environment;

• Ability and desire to develop, implement, and sustain "best practice" processes to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy;

• Good communication and effective intrapersonal skills, including proven ability to develop strong professional internal and external relationships

• Significant exposure to various Asian corporate income and value-added taxes for a global multi-national company required;

• Experience in US GAAP tax accounting standards and Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 concepts;

• Oracle or similar general ledger experience preferred; and

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
