Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for designing and implementing internal controls over financial reporting, including accounting policy implementations, SOX, distributed controllership, process simplification and internal controls over IPP monitoring and risk. Serve as controllership experts on financial system and ERP implementations.

  • Developing specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest functional developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

  • Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. These jobs have significant input into their priorities. Jobs at this level tend to be covered by professional practices and policies but these are shaped by the role. Working within broad guidelines and policies, roles at this level have moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of evaluative judgment.

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or other business related field and 10+ years progressive accounting or finance experience;

  2. Demonstrated proficiency in U.S. GAAP, local GAAP and authoritative accounting literature (i.e. FASB pronouncements)

Preferred Qualifications:

1 . CPA / CA or GE Corporate Audit Staff

  1. Experience working in a global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows

  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner

  3. Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers,

generate alternatives and drive positive change

  1. Clear thinking/problem solving: successfully led projects/process improvements within

operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas in a complex scenario

  1. Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations

  2. Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions,

communications, actions and when dealing with others

  1. Confidence/Assertiveness: strong leadership skills

  2. Experience leading in a global business environment; minimum of 5 years’ experience leading team
