General Electric Senior Corporate Strategy Manager in Shanghai, China

Job Description Summary

The key role of Senior Corporate Strategy Manager is to support GE healthcare China top management to define the corporate/BU strategy and to translate into concrete initiatives, business plan and priorities. As a core member of corporate strategy team, this role needs to closely work Corporate Strategy Director and BU leaders, but also across BU sand functions to ensure strategic initiatives are in line with GEHC global and China medium-and long-term strategy.

Job Description

Key responsibilities:

Manage strategy cycle process

As part of GEHC strategic planning process, this role support to organize and facilitate the end-to-end China strategic planning process including (1) BU/modality medium and long-term strategic plan, (2) execution plans and target allocation, (3) budget approvals, (4) execution review and results tracking. In addition to the annual planning cycle, continuously work with BU to monitor/propose new or critical initiatives.

Generate business insights

Frequent collaborate and exchange with corp strategy team and BU and external 3rd parties to (1) conduct deep research and analysis on the critical and prioritized problems, including market dynamics, customer behavior, unmet needs and best practice case studies; (2) organize cross-functional/BU problem solving session and workshop to share initial findings and potential solutions; (3) synthesize insights from research findings and discussion, and generate implications (e.g. opportunities and risks) to ensure sustainable business success GEHC China.

Support communication and alignment

Communicate and coordinate business strategic objective and plans to be in line with overall GEHC direction, other BU and functions. Organize discussion or workshops between top management, BU, function leaderships to achieve full transparency and alignment.

Ensure strategy implementation

Based on GEHC China/BU’s medium and long-term development strategy as inputs, (1) support BU to further operationalize next level implementation roadmap and details (e.g. owner, milestones, transformation); (2) set up regular-basis progress review cadence (e.g. bi-weekly, monthly), and problem solving with BU for any faced challenges and potential solutions; (3) prepare strategy implementation progress doc for top management review and discussion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or above Degree in top Universities, prefer healthcare or business-related majors; MBA, PhD, MD is a plus.

  • 5+ year work experience in healthcare area, in either (1) Strategy or Marketing position in leading healthcare corporate; (2) or strategy consultancy with comprehensive exposure in healthcare studies.

  • Deep toolset in strategy, market analysis and product commercialization (e.g. analytic/structural thinking, conceptual, quantitative skills)

  • Profound experience in project management, project management certification is a plus (PMP certification by PMI or adequate)

  • Outstanding in English and Chinese, including oral communication, written and presentation skills
