Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • This is a leadership position, covering multiple sites in Asia, and as part of the Steam, Generator, and HRSG Value Stream Organizations within GE Power, reporting to the Value Stream Lean Leader

  • As the Asia Regional Lean Leader, you will be responsible for leading the effort within regional SGH shops to create flow and world class customer turnaround times. The Leader will utilize consistent application of Lean Tools and Principals for each assigned site that meets or exceeds the expected goals

  • Coach the teams to create connected flow lines

  • Drive line stop resolution including root cause identification and resolution on connected flow lines

  • Leverage moonshine techniques to create flow

  • Lead and mentor leaders by holding kaizen events that target sections of the processes or entire processes as defined in the VSM’s

  • Establish a formal cadence with sites / Lean Leaders for coaching, improvement plans, project tracking, as well as development and execution of site Kaizen events

  • Establish functional integration to aid in lead time and inventory reductions within the Value Stream, to include materials, sourcing, engineering, new product integration and commercial as required

  • Assist with maintaining a Lean Leader at each site and coach then on lean skills


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in deployment of Lean in a manufacturing environment with a proven track record of implementing significant improvement in lead time, cost, and inventory turns year-over year

  • Shingijutsu training

  • Background and understanding in flow line or moving line creation

  • Background and understanding of 3P/moonshine to drive flow line creation

  • Completion of a Site Lean Transformation

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel 75% of the time

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university or college

  • Demonstrated leadership experience at the Sr Manager, Director and/or GM Level
