General Electric Regional Lean Improvements Leader in Shanghai, China

Role Summary:

Working in close partnership with the Global Lean Team, you will play a key role in supporting the region through an exciting lean journey to ensure successful implementation and sustainability of the GO-HR lean management system. This is a key enabler to ensure GO-HR will achieve its operational excellence priorities and targets on metrics, employee experience and unit cost.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the lean specialist for the Region, you will support local teams in the deployment and sustainment of the lean infrastructure, with the aim of delivering the cultural change required for teams to drive sustainable continuous improvements. You will partner closely with the Global Lean Team to deliver lean training, coach and facilitate groups on lean principles, and work with operational teams to identify and drive continuous improvement activities, that ultimately enable cost reduction and capacity creation opportunities. These improvements will also be evident and measurable via enhanced trends in our Big Y metrics and increased productivity in operations. You will be a change agent, self-starter, and team player with a substantial track record of project delivery and change management.

Key Deliverables

• Successful implementation of the lean management system (LMS) across the region, aligned with the Global Lean deployment strategy - serve as a change agent in institutionalizing Lean principles regionally

• Partner and build a close working relationship with regional teams and global stakeholders to ensure alignment of Lean strategic priorities, and identify and deliver operational improvement outcomes via Lean

• Facilitate the delivery of LMS training; specifically, in the areas of Key Lean Concepts, Visual Management, Venues & Accountability, Leader Standard Work, and Problem Solving.

• Ongoing coaching of frontline operational leaders and team members in LMS to drive self-sustaining capabilities within the region, evidenced via Lean maturity scale metrics and improvements

• Facilitate operational teams to identify, prioritize and drive opportunities for process improvements, leading to quantifiable cost efficiencies, productivity gains and capacity creation, using the Lean framework and methodologies (visual boards, value streams, problem solving, etc.)

• Define and implement a strong framework and rigor of capturing and tracking continuous improvements and benefits via Lean, to drive measurable outcomes and leader accountability

• Define, build and implement a wider Lean network/infrastructure within your region, to drive continuous improvements and share best practices in other strategic teams / countries

• Partner with global process leaders as needed to identify key industry trends/external benchmarking and actioning any related simplification opportunities

• Manage both local and global stakeholder communication on progress & results for your region

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality / process improvement / project management role or operational function in a shared services environment

• Prior experience with Lean tools and methodologies, training and facilitating workshops and events advantageous

• Proven track record of project management experience, driving cross-functional projects to deliver business results in a fast-paced operational environment

• Demonstrated ability to deal with complexity of processes, structures and concepts, looking at things from a wing-to-wing perspective and connecting the dots to drive impactful process improvements

• Excellent analytical, critical thinking & problem-solving skills, with a strong foundation in metrics/KPIs and driving operational excellence

• Proven track record of engaging stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization, and building effective relationships, resulting in strong operational delivery and execution

• Proven track record of good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize deliverables, multi-task effectively and hit agreed deadlines

• Strong interpersonal, influencing and change management skills, with a track record of dealing with and overcoming resistance to change at multiple levels of the organisation

• Ability to work both effectively and proactively with multiple remote teams, and delivering results in a matrixed organisation

• Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
