Role Summary:

Flight Analytics Engineer works as technical and project contributor on providing customers with flight analytic service and project.

He/She will be working on:

•Developing analytic content for the flight analytic system;

•Managing and maintaining data configuration;

•Leading and conducting flight analytic project and consultation to the customers;

•Developing flight analytic algorithms, services to the customers;

•Providing analytical support and consultation to customers globally.

Essential Responsibilities:

Design and develop flight analytic algorithms for the flight analytics library

• Develop analytic algorithms in support of aviation industry safety and efficiency best practices

• Communicate analytic development to internal and external users through presentations, documentation and other means

• Train and assist airline customers in using GE’s flight analytics library

Manage and maintain the data configuration

• Maintain and improve flight data quality

• Flight data onboarding and configuration setup for QAR, flight operation and other type of data

• Parameter mapping management for flight data from different sources

• Serve as internal expert user of GE’s flight analytic system for ongoing improvement and development of the software offering

Flight analytic project and consultation

• Participate or lead in short and long-term aviation safety or efficiency projects

• Design and develop analytic algorithm and solution according to customer requirements

• Design and develop analytic product to meet the customer needs

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science

• 2-3+ additional years of aviation industry experience

Desired Characteristics:

• Willingness and ability to travel as required (minimal)

• Experience with aviation operations, ATC and/or pilotage

• Strong understanding of flight dynamics, avionics, and onboard aerospace systems

• Experience with data analysis, aviation data a plus

• Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and other data manipulation tools

• Strong math skills including vector calculus, regression analysis, and statistics

• Familiarity with ARINC 717 and 767 standards and digital flight data recording and readout methods

• Understanding of binary and other non-decimal numbering systems

• Ability to self-manage multiple simultaneous projects

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of specific tasks while working as an integral part of a dynamic team on larger tasks

• Demonstrated quick learner with exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Highly organized, detail oriented and able to perform duties with a high degree of accuracy

• Demonstrated commitment to quality and safety culture, processes, and procedures
