Job Description Summary
Activities mainly contributing to the high voltage bushings design and product development. The role includes also tasks linked to technical continuous improvement of existing products with focus on material cost-out, design for manufacturing and standardisation. Mandatory the support for root cause analysis to improve the product quality. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
Roles and Responsibilities
Supports the R&D Manager in the preparation and developing of the R&D plan.
Performs basic electric and magnetic field analysis
Performs advanced thermal and mechanical analysis
Participates to the development of new product and technology introduction and projects gate reviews
Contributes in development of technical standards for engineering and manufacturing procedures for production.
Participates to International R&D Team on specific projects and to International standard committees.
Supports the project of cost and Quality root cause analysis.
Uses some judgement and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions
Education / Experience - Engineer University Degree – Mechanical Engineering - Experience in the field of mechanical engineering and in R&D project management (not mandatory)
Specific knowledge of finite elements methods and mechanical design
Business understanding - Basic knowledge of the company business, its products & organisation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
