General Electric Training & Performance Improvement Manager in Schenectady, New York
Job Description Summary
This role will design and drive global learning and improvement strategies and activities based on key business priorities, with a particular focus in the near term on GE Renewable Energy’s VisionSafe (site safety) program and other leadership competencies for key site management roles.
Job Description
Essential responsibilities:
Design and implement a global training strategy and delivery with site managers; Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) leaders; and other leaders and teams as needed
Build and implement a full curriculum for site managers/leads based on the competency model for that role
Build and implement a broader curriculum for EHS leaders based on the competency model for that role
Collaborate with EHS and Culture & Learning teams to develop and deliver incident and investigations training for senior and mid-level leaders in RE businesses
Partner with global field service technical training team, including contractor supplier leadership teams, to connect efforts and support overall field training efforts
Partner with global Project Management Office on overall competencies and training support for construction project managers
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of 7 years experience working with EHS, site and/or safety leaders, preferably in a global organization
Desired Characteristics:
Proven experience with cultural transformation involving quality, lean or EHS (e.g., leading cultural change programs, managing global change efforts, innovative learning approaches)
Working knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching, and instruction for individuals, groups and measurement of training efforts
Ability to translate key competency gaps into effective learning solutions and resources to fill those gaps
Ability to work cross-functionally in a global team
Ability to build and manage a global team of internal and external subject matter experts and vendors
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and flexibility to be able to change priorities based on business and facility needs
Ability to work in an office environment, outside, and in an industrial setting
Able to work in a fast-paced team-oriented atmosphere as well as independently as projects warrant
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with online meeting tools (Teams, Zoom) a plus
Excellent communication, consensus building, coaching and interpersonal skills
