We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join our multinational organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating tax operations and compliance activities for our organization, ensuring that we are compliant with all applicable tax laws, regulations, and standards.
Job Description:
Oversee quarterly close and reporting activities with respect to Vernova’s US GAAP financial reporting, including but not limited to effective tax rate analysis, tax payable roll-forwards, deferred tax and year end disclosure requirements for all entities globally;
Coordinate and collaborate with internal and/or external tax return preparers to ensure compliance requirements are timely met, including coordinating information requests between internal/external stakeholders and reviewing Vernova inputs/tax computations for all entities;
Ensure return to accrual calculations (RTA) are completed on an annual basis;
Work with tax and finance employees to forecast taxes for financial planning & analysis purposes and compare actual forecasted quarterly / annual effective tax rates;
Evaluate tax return positions in accordance with guidance provided in ASC 740-10 (formerly FIN 48) and maintain documentation to support positions taken and monitoring of statute of limitations, tax law and litigation status, as applicable;
Collaborate with internal and/or external teams to monitor and support ongoing tax audits, including, coordinating with finance teams to aggregate data for presentation to tax authorities;
Coordinate SOX 404 processes and review with respect to tax functions and extend these processes and reviews to serve as integral “real-time” internal audit or controllership balance sheet reviews;
Identify areas for process, systems, reporting improvements to ensure adequacy and function of all tax compliance programs and initiatives within areas of assigned responsibility; and
Collaborate with other departments within the organization, including finance, accounting, and legal, to ensure accurate and timely reporting of all tax-related information.
Identify areas of potential tax risk and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
Collaborate across Vernova Tax Operations Team to provide training and share best practices.
Supervise and train newcomers and analysts
Contribute to and lead ad-hoc tax projects and tax related tasks as needed
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience/ knowledge
Minimum 5 years corporate tax experience
Desired Characteristics:
Strong experience in taxation, preferably in a multinational corporation or public accounting firm.
Significant experience in US GAAP ASC 740
Technical accounting expertise
Experience in tax reporting, tax compliance, and tax risk management.
Strong leadership skills and experience in managing teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
CPA or other relevant professional certification.
Understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
Experience in managing tax compliance and reporting process.
Familiarity with tax and compliance technology solutions.
Experience in managing relationships with tax authorities and external advisors.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to analyze complex tax compliance issues and develop effective solutions.
Strong business acumen and understanding of the company's goals and objectives.
Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to implement tax compliance strategies and plans.
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
*The salary range for this position is 90,800.00 - 151,400.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a 10% performance bonus. Available benefits include Health, Medical, 401K, and Paid Leave.
