Who we are looking for:

The Digital Product Manager is ideal for someone who has a passion for digital products, creating innovative solutions, growing an engaged user base, and is driven by success. You will make an immediate impact in working to create a Renewable generation plant based digital platform for the growing fleet of renewable assets. As the Sr. Product Manager of Renewable’s Edge Platform, you will lead strategy and execution of renewable energy Edge platform including both software applications and hardware or virtualized platforms. You will establish and communicate the vision for this critical product’s future as well as tactically manage the ongoing development and maintenance of the software as well as Platform integration. You will also be responsible for Edge connected plant data integration to improve overall data quality, Platform strategy in supporting Edge applications and Edge analytics, Edge integration with various Digital Application on premise and in the Cloud, scaling and life cycle management strategy of the Edge platform, as well as Edge analytics strategy in collaboration with various analytics teams. This role will also be responsible for both internal and external use cases, the go-to market strategy, commercial model, cost and pricing structure as well as product life-cycle management by collaborating closely with the commercial and service team.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • The mission of this role is to create a control and analytics platform with robust data integration which is closer to the renewable assets and able to connect assets and cloud securely and reliably. internal and external stakeholders, market needs, and competitive intelligence. Build, maintain and execute the long term strategy of the REN Edge platform.

  • The Product Manager will build, execute and continuously refresh REN Edge strategy with a multiple generation product plan (MGPP) by analyzing current products, industry current/future needs and trends, as well as competition.

  • Drive business case analysis, funding, staffing, and oversee project management for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs for continuous development on the product by expanding the capabilities, upgrading the technology stacks to stay current, maintaining compliant and compatibility with associated Digital Applications.

  • Partner closely with other product managers of across Digital Wind Farm products, data teams, and engineering teams to materialize outcomes from inception, development through deployment as well as life-cycle support.

  • Collaborate with Analytics and Controls team to enable advanced analytics closer to the asset with ease of life-cycle management.

  • Work with compliance team to ensure seamless system integration, compliant to both cyber security requirement and other regional specific regulations.

  • Understand the current landscape of the Edge platform market, including key competitors, business models, services strategy, technology trends/differences/capabilities, and pricing.

  • Prepare business cases to drive cross-functional support and scale capability with demand.

  • Work closely with engineering team to provide clear requirement on product features and development prioritization through OKR (Objective and Key Results), and be accountable for OKR completeness.

  • Support projects to reduce costs in the equipment & installation (vendor, manufacturing, services, installation, etc.).

  • Ensure patents and intellectual property are updated with each feature release/modification and monitor for patent infringement.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college in engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in product management, strategic consulting or a related field requiring analytical skills and a strategic mindset

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You are willing to travel at least 30% of the time

Desired Characteristics

  • Familiarity, preferably prior experience, with Edge concept, IIoT Edge technology and/or Edge use cases in related industry.

  • Strong understanding of IIoT Edge concept, Controls, and Power generation plant operations

  • Demonstrated solid understanding of energy industry technologies, asset operations and software expertise

  • Strong business analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skills

  • Identifies the customer’s business and strategic needs, concerns, and desires for the value

  • Emotional Intelligence, ability to influence up and out; a team player with a strong desire to win

  • Ability to lead and energize people at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses

  • Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to clearly communicate issues and resolution to both a technical and non-technical audience

  • Ability to make decisions with incomplete information

  • Highly organized and efficient; able to balance competing priorities and execute accordingly

  • Strong quality awareness and ability to identify future failures, defects and problems
