The Senior Communications Manager of GE Digital's Grid Software business unit will lead organizational communications for 1,800+ employees. The person in this role will build comprehensive strategies that turn complex information into streamlined, clear, credible content that influences sentiment and behavior. As a storyteller with strong business acumen, this person will partner with the global leadership team and the corporate internal communications team to enhance and amplify Grid Software's business narrative and build key partnerships across our energy-focused business units.

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end development of employee-focused communications strategy for the global Grid Software organization, and implement this strategy to create content that attracts, engages, informs and delights employees – in a range of formats (e.g. written, experiential, digital) and channels (e.g. intranet, email, chat)

  • Develops potential communications solutions and tactics and conducts broad analysis (e.g., pros/cons, cost/benefit, risks, resources, timing) to determine the viability of various alternatives

  • Provide executive communications support to the CEO, influencing communications approach through strategic counsel and creating content for various projects and announcements, such as strategy and planning or mergers and acquisitions

  • Develop relationships with leaders across Grid Software to develop internal communications campaigns that bring the Grid Software narrative to life with their teams

  • Manage organizational communications channels such as Teams, Town Halls, Slido, etc.

  • Develop internal stories that increase Grid Software's employee understanding of our software and the problems we solve for our customers

  • Ensure all communications are of high quality, on-brand, and the appropriate tone of voice including situations requiring sensitivity

  • Develop methods to collect Employee Communications and Engagement metrics, sharing results with relevant team members to acknowledge progress and inform decision-making

  • Participate actively in the wider GE Digital communications community, developing and sharing standard methodologies for employee communications, leading by example and proactively seeking opportunities to align messaging

  • Performs data analyses to inform communications strategy and assess impact

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 8+ years communications experience with technology company or communications agency experience

  • Capacity to learn the energy market and its products

  • Experience with digital, social media communications programs

  • Excellence in communications writing, planning, and oral communication skills including the ability to represent Grid Software business at the highest levels of leadership and in a variety of settings and audiences

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; exceptional PowerPoint and visualization skills used to convey compelling and easy to understand messages

  • Comfortable with complex business topics and tight deadlines

Desired Qualifications

  • 10+ years communication experience

  • Communications experience in software, energy, or industrial sector, with a keen understanding of internal communication strategies

  • Experience working on corporate communications for a large consumer brand, matrixed environment

  • Curious, forward-thinking and driven puzzle solver who thrives on collaboration, vision-setting, clarity of purpose, authenticity and positivity
