General Electric Services Lead Program Manager in Schenectady, New York

Job Description Summary

The Services Lead Program Manager will have responsibility for tracking program activities, and trading off business risks with schedule demands for PowerUp and Reliability Upgrades programs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of schedule, budget, resource identification, and priority discussions for multiple Services Engineering PowerUp and Reliability Upgrades programs

  • Manages and makes visible program risks both as they emerge and throughout the lifecycle of the program.

  • Communication and escalation to leadership as issues arise.

  • Expected to facilitate solutions within the working team and get leadership approval or buy in as needed.

  • Perform as interface between the internal functions and suppliers, managing the transfer of information and requests.

  • Assure timely resolution of issues, keep the stakeholders advised of the progress of the program, and negotiate changes, variations, solutions to issues.

  • Contributes towards strategy and program development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems within programs, schedules, and product lines

  • Will lead multiple programs in parallel from conception through field validation. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.

  • Demonstrate effective risk mitigation and problem solving resolution

  • Work with scheduler to create and update schedules in P6 Primavera

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks are consistent with engineering procedures

  • Drive simplification and standardization of best practices into engineering analyses, validation, and program execution

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with engineering design review processes

  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Project

  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems

  • Ability to prioritize information, using technical experience and analytical thinking for decision making

  • Established project management skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to document, plan, and execute programs
