Job Description Summary

Role leads HR M&A due diligence and pre-sign deal support to GE Business Development (BD) & HR teams for People Ops aspects of divestitures, acquisitions, and JVs. Works directly with GE Business BD teams to understand and track global confidential deal pipeline.

Support establishing compliant and deliverable global employee transfer mechanisms for deals (“step plans”). Provide significant support to BD teams and Corporate HR in confidential due diligence ensuring standard and compliant approaches. Influences a range of stakeholders to accomplish strategic priorities.

Roles and Responsibilities

Trusted partner advising GE Business HR and Corporate HR early in deal cycle (pre-sign) as a resource/liaison for decisions and strategy regarding "people process" aspects of divestiture separation. Represent GE People Ops during early stages of deals, influence deal structure where possible. Advise deal teams on adjacent HR areas, providing expert technical guidance to minimize needing additional EE's under NDA.

Offer proposals based on understanding customer needs and business capabilities, perform stakeholder analysis and strategy for decision-making. Able to answer buyer/seller questions, and to educate on GE benefits and People Operations platforms and processes.

Work directly with GE Business BD teams to understand global, confidential dynamic deal pipeline. Accountable for tracking and appropriately communicating deal pipeline and understanding potential impacts on People Operations.

Establish employee transfer mechanisms with Tax, Finance, and business teams (GESA/TSA/Day 1). Ensure GE's high standards of ethics and compliance during project strategic planning.

Facilitate analysis and ensure US benefit comparability and sign-off. Submit deals for US Benefit Board approval. Populate US deals HR datarooms with benefit and other information as requested by buyer.

Verify GE standards are included and complete for US and outside of US in Employee Matters Agreement (EMA).

Maintain standard project plan framework ensuring compliance with global standards.

Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to advance HR M&A knowledge within businesses for successful deals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in related area (or a high school graduate/GED or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant work experience

  • Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) experience

  • Minimum 5 years Payroll & Benefits or HR Operations or M&A experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Significant Mergers and Acquisition experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of US benefits plans and US Executive Compensation

  • Deep understanding of US benefits and payroll, with 5+ years experience in HR or related functional area

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • Demonstrated cross-functional team leadership experience, with proven ability to mentor and coach team members

  • Proven ability to work across large matrix organizations with stakeholders at Corporate, GE Businesses, and People Operations organizations

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while tracking multiple priorities for delivery

  • PeopleSoft experience with Employee Data Management, Payroll or Benefits Administration

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build and maintain positive working relationships

  • Solid and demonstrated analytical and process skills, including the ability to identify trends and develop innovative process improvements

  • Solid coaching, facilitation, and influencing skills

  • Proven project/process management experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with ability to present complex information to stakeholders at all levels both within and outside the company

  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy

  • Ability to flex working hours to accommodate global timezones

  • Ability to travel to meet business needs

  • Committed to data integrity & protection

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Smartsheet
