General Electric Pull Systems Manager in Schenectady, New York

Job Description Summary

The Pull Systems Manager will lead a Team of Value Stream Planners (VSP) focused on the design and continuous improvement of wing to wing Pull systems. They will partner with the SIOP, Materials, Manufacturing Ops, Digital, Lean, Sourcing and Services teams to develop wing to wing Pull systems and processes to improve overall business delivery performance. This role will be a critical leadership role in the deployment of our GSC hoshin initiatives.

Job Description

Essential responsibilities

  • Lead a team of VSPs to define the wing to wing supply plan and parameters for each pull system.

  • Act as the focal point for Parts team and the Factories relating to the value stream settings and performance.

  • Actively participate in the SIOP processes.

  • Ensures that Pull system standard work is defined, trained, and upheld throughout the business.

  • Work with DT teams to develop, prototype and implement tools.

  • Support the SIOP team to develop action plans for value streams where the committed run rates don’t meet total business needs.

  • Demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, processes requirements, and collaborating on wing-to-wing value stream problem solving.

  • Work with the operational teams and lean teams to align the lean roadmaps with the Pull systems continuous improvement strategy.

  • Deploy new pull systems in line with the business hoshin strategy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field from an accredited university

  • A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of the disciplines of supply chain management, such as production and inventory control, Process development, and Lean supply strategy

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, act independently, and use sound judgment.

  • Ability to successfully motivate and maintain high integrity, employee involvement, safety and teamwork.

  • Change agent with energy, passion and enthusiasm.

  • Deep experience in ERP SAP(PMx), Baan, Oracle (Zeal) experience in a manufacturing environment and digital Data visualization
