General Electric Projects Data Analytics Leader in Schenectady, New York
Role Summary:The Projects Data Analytics Leader will be responsible for driving operational excellence, improved decision making, and more rigorous risk management for the North America Onshore Projects organization through data analysis and visualization.
Essential Responsibilities:As Projects Data Analytics Leader you will:
evelop metrics and analytics centered around Projects execution for both new unit deliveries and Repower installations
Provide insight and analysis on critical areas of operations through descriptive statistics and visualization, including but not limited to: liquidated damages risk, execution cost, productivity, installation/commissioning cycle times, fulfillment, deliveries, labor efficiency, and long-term risk
Communicate areas of risk and opportunities for operational improvement to senior leadership
Drive operating rhythms to further ingrain a data-driven mindset throughout the Projects organization
Work to improve ease-of-access to current and future metrics through integration into existing and future digital tools
Work with field teams and headquarters on data quality assessment, data cleansing and data analytics
Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or information technology from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 3 years work experience in a statistics/data-analysis role
Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in Projects and/or Field Services
Working knowledge of Onshore Wind business and Projects execution
Strong project management skills with ability to make decisions, plan, organize and communicate.
Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt Certification or equivalent quality certification
Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to clearly communicate arguments and conclusions rooted in data and statistics to senior leadership
Strong attention to detail
High flexibility and motivation to succeed
Ability to work cross-functionally with Project Management, Field Operations, Digital, and Finance teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel/Powerpoint)
Knowledge of statistics and data-mining software (Matlab, R, Python) as well as methods of extracting data (e.g. SQL)
