Job Description Summary
Create technical procedures, i.e., WDI, TWP, GEI, TM for field teams to perform work safely and efficiently. Lead cross-functional teams and integrate EHS safety and new technology requirements, tools, lessons learned, and technical knowledge to develop field procedures and manuals for servicing, operating, installing, commissioning, and maintaining wind turbines.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead review, editing, publishing and management of technical documents (WDI, TWP, GEI, TM)
Create and improve field procedures for maintenance, installation, trouble shooting, repairs, replacements, top issue, productivity, retrofit programs and services growth initiatives
Coordinate with different business and regional teams to resolve technical challenges
Coordinate with Field teams, Tool Center, and Repair Center of Excellence to generate tool manuals and field repair procedures
Generate ideas and work closely with the cross functional teams to integrate NPI new technologies and capabilities into the wind turbine portfolio
Train and drive regional team engagement in document development
Coordinate with regions to implement translation of documents
Lead planning, developing, updating, and publishing O&M operating & maintenance and installation manuals
Devise and propose solutions for providing world class wind turbine services and installation
Drive safety and quality improvement on documents and processes
Promote and communicate a safety culture and work closely with EHS teams to ensure safety is the priority in the development and execution of technical procedures and methods
Evaluate technical methods and implement improved tools and methods to reduce injuries, reduce ergonomic challenges, and continuously improve quality and productivity
Lead document and process improvements and enhance user experience
Generate communications, training materials and participate in training field teams in the implementation of technical methods and procedures
Manage technical document distribution, repository, metrics, and revision controls
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University or College
Minimum of 5 years of experience in wind filed services and technical documentation creating and publishing
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management and process improvement
Knowledge of wind turbine configurations and field services processes
Ability and willingness to travel and climb Wind Turbine Generators when needed
Demonstrated excellence in technical writing
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
Established project management skills
Self-starter – be able to take initiatives and implement them with minimal instructions
Familiarity with MS SharePoint and CCMS (Component Content Management System)
Familiarity with wind farm construction, operation, and maintenance
Proven ability and track record to produce and deliver results
Seeks continuous improvement of quality and efficiency
Superior organizational & time management skills with strong prioritization abilities
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Operational and Lean management experience
Lean toolkit application skills (value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Error Proofing, team problem solving, etc.)
