General Electric Customer Support Upgrade Engineer in Schenectady, New York
In this role, you will provide upgrades of GE Digital products. This includes working with leadership and Project Management to coordinate upgrades. Effectively collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to ensure successful customer outcomes and satisfaction. Duties may include installation, integration, or configuration activities. Frequent interaction will be required with customers, third party vendors, and GE Digital teams.
Provide an accurate and timely accounting of all billable and non-billable times as required including technical install documentation checklist completion.
Maintain ongoing contact with customer throughout installation process.
Communicate with all individuals involved in the implementation project, both within the company and at the customer site, to ensure completion of project on the documented date.
Perform research and fact-finding to ensure, when possible, operational or existing functionality is used to solve customer's specific needs and expectations.
Responsible for upgrades and customer satisfaction, during the installation/upgrade cycle as well as installation/upgrade process improvements.
Attend and participate in customer meetings which will ensure that all customers tasks are performed on the system needed to complete the upgrade and achieve a successful completion.
Update and maintains documentation of work performed in the appropriate quality record tool.
Perform troubleshooting procedures to identify and resolve problems quickly and with confidence. Escalates to next level of support when necessary.
Assist sales and marketing with technical advice.
Assist with knowledge sharing during/after projects for internal and external teams.
May perform other duties as assigned.
These responsibilities will be performed in a remote or onsite location. Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree IT Technology) or equivalent military education plus 3+ years of experience in an IT related field; or Associates Degree with 5+ years of experience in IT related field; or a High School Diploma/GED and 7+ years of experience in IT related field.Eligibility Requirements

Software experience with one or more of the following, installation, support, training
Experience using TCP/IP networks, communications and associated tools
Experience in VM environment setup and operating system optimization
Passion for quality while also demonstrating time management skills
Deep knowledge of at least two modalities or 2 product lines depending on the business
Experience with large-scale project management where deadlines were met on or ahead of schedule.
Knowledge of the customer requirements and demonstration of customer service skills.
Familiar with Microsoft products, Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio.
Experience with reporting tools including Crystal Reports.
Knowledge of clinical information systems.
Experience in database set-up and scripting
Multiple platform development / support experience (Windows, IBM-AIX, HP-UX, HACMP, Linux, SunOS).
Experience with interface engines including Cloverleaf, Datagate, eGate.
DBA Certification (Oracle, Microsoft SQL); HL7 Certification; MCSE, CCNA certified
Knowledge of Windows Terminal Server, VM and Citrix.
Experienced with system architecture including Terminal Servers, Clustering, Networks, and High Availability Systems
Cabling and termination experience (3-5 years).
